Darren Johnson is an technical product management leader, systems architect, and electrical engineer with a distinguished career driving high-stakes hardware, software, and cloud transformations. Initially recruited on a collegiate athletic scholarship to play basketball, his relentless focus transitioned from the court to rigorous engineering research—establishing a disciplined, outcome-driven mindset that defines his technical leadership today.

While pursuing his Electrical Engineering degree at the University of South Carolina, Darren gained invaluable, industry-ready experience performing paid research under renowned faculty leaders. Working alongside the distinguished Dr. Paul Huray in high-speed signal integrity and Dr. Jim Davis in FPGA design, Darren built a foundational mastery of complex electronic systems that directly springboarded his early career into premier senior engineering roles at aerospace giants Boeing and Lockheed Martin.

A pivotal highlight of his engineering leadership includes orchestrating the planning, hardware/software deployment, and successful commercial rollout of AT&T's IPTV streaming television solution. Leading distributed onshore and offshore engineering teams, Darren drove end-to-end delivery of an industry-redefining solution that brought scalable digital streaming to millions of subscribers.

To complement his technical depth with global business readiness, Darren earned his MBA from Syracuse University with a specialized focus on international enterprise strategy and global market expansion. Tailored explicitly for doing business abroad, his graduate preparation included academic residencies across major international commerce hubs, including London (England), Seoul (South Korea), Buenos Aires (Argentina), and Johannesburg (South Africa).

Across subsequent executive roles—including impactful leadership at TRS, Corelis, and presently at Toshiba—Darren leverages this global perspective to align multi-region engineering teams, guide complex product life-cycles, enforce CI/CD automation, and lead enterprise AI transformations across global markets.
